DNA New World makes its much awaited return to bars.

DNA New World IPA a ground-breaking collaboration beer has made its much awaited return to bars this month as the Wells & Young’s guest ale for September.

The beer first launched in April 2013 in cask, and is the product of an inventive craft beer collaboration between Charles Wells Ltd, Wells & Young’s parent company and Dogfish Head, a US East Coast Brewery. It was created at Wells & Young’s brewery in Bedford by taking a special reduction from 60 Minute IPA, a popular Dogfish Head beer, and integrating it into the Wells & Young’s brewing process. In other words the brewers took the very DNA of one beer and added it to the brewing process of another resulting in a craft beer that is unique, diverse and a little bit special. DNA by Charles Wells

The beer, which has a toasty, nutty start followed by a highly hopped and citrusy finish, created a buzz amongst beer lovers earlier in the year and has been brewed in a limited run once again for September. DNA New World IPA is currently available in a range of pubs nationally and Wells & Young’s are also planning to release the beer in bottle and keg later this year.

Emily Hudson, Marketing Manager at Wells & Young’s said: “After its overwhelming popularity earlier this year, we simply had to bring DNA back again. September is a particularly relevant time for DNA to make a return in cask, with its off-the-wall pump clip and unique background set to peak interest amongst drinkers during Cask Ale Week.

“We are now finalising plans to make the beer a permanent addition to the brewery in both bottle and keg variants.”

In addition to the return of DNA New World IPA, and following the success of Hummingbird, its brand new golden ale for summer, Wells & Young’s has got an exciting seasonal programme lined up for autumn and winter. The aptly named Golden Cauldron will available in October and is brewed with Golden Naked Oats, Chinook and First Gold Hops to create a pine hop aroma and citrus orange finish with a hint of warming caramel, it also has a very eye-catching, glowing pump clip. Also look out for news on a new festive ale from the brewery this year too!
